We’ve been shortlisted for Ocado’s ‘Britain’s Next Top Supplier’ Competition

We’re really pleased to announce that we’ve been shortlisted to pitch to Ocado as part of their #BNTS15 supplier competition.  Basically it’s a chance to enter a competition to win the opportunity to supply Ocado with our range for 6 months.


We’re pitching to the powers that be on Tuesday 24th, but today on Twitter, we’re taking part in an online pitch, with the hashtag #BNTS15.  If you’re around then, do join in, spread the love and RT our posts.

Latest stockist – The Hill Bakery

We love good bread, so we’re thrilled to have just packed off our first order to The Hill Bakery. Based in Camberwell, and set up by a lovely man called Adam, the bakery and deli is brand new, so if you’re passing, do stop in.  Their website is here

James Martin’s Home Comforts

It’s been pointed out that we’ve been very bad at updating our news page. We’re currently typing this sat in the corner on the naughty step.  It’s true, we’ve been bad at keeping you updated, and we’re very sorry.

Since this website has gone live, we’ve had all sorts of things going on. One of the most recent and momentous, was that we were very lucky to be featured on BBC1 as part of chef James Martin’s second series of Home Comforts.

Our episode was called Friday Night Suppers, and my mum and I were lucky enough to go to James Martin’s house and film with him.  He made Scotch eggs, and they were fab – especially when served with our Piccalilli!

I’m not sure how much longer it will be available, but the series is on iplayer –

New products coming up…

Well it’s been a busy old time here at Manfood towers: although we’ve been quiet, we certainly haven’t been idle!  The business has been growing slowly and steadily. Our first trade show at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair went down a storm, and consequently, we’re  stocked in a number of delis around London, and as far afield as Bristol and Portsmouth.

We’ve got some new products coming.  The first is a rich dark Real Ale Chutney.  It’s been a fab year for fruit, so we managed to get hold of locally grown Victoria plums, which we’ve cooked with sultanas, apples, onion and Woodforde’s Noggin Ale to give a lovely wintery chutney that’s great in a sandwich or with cheese.

Secondly, we’re developing a series of new cocktail inspired jams.  The first one we’re trialling is a Negroni Jam.  For those unfamiliar with this cocktail, it’s made with equal parts of Red Vermouth, Campari and Gin. We’ve paired these with Cambridgeshire strawberries and a hint of orange.

Limited quantities are available, so if you’d like to be one of the few to grab a jar, please e mail us with the subject heading: Negroni Jam. It’s the same price as the pickles. £3.95

Please note as this is a trial run, we’ve not got proper labels sorted yet,  so it’s got a real homemade look to it. But it tastes GOOD.

Manfood is now available at Ely farmers market

We will be joining over 25 stalls that sell a range of merchandise from artisan bread and cakes, preserves, pies, eggs, cheese, organic vegetables, soft fruits, asparagus, chilli plants and products, flowers, plants and herbs to rare breed meat and more exotic fare such as ostrich and goat meat.
